This week The Huffington
Post released a surprising fashion video clip. Click here to see the clip

As the reporter stated, “It’s
award season”. This is the time of year
Hollywood dresses up and lavishes praise on its people. This politician,
admittedly, has no awareness of his clothing. We’ve all seen people in public
and wondered why they chose that outfit.
But in God’s world we do not have to be a fashionista to make the best
dressed list. God gives us all the advice we need in scripture:
“You’re done with that
old life and style. It’s like a set of ill-fitting clothes you’ve stripped off
and put in the fire. Now you’re dressed in a new wardrobe. Every item of your
new life is custom-made by the Creator, with his label on it.
All the old fashions are
now obsolete. Words like Jewish and non-Jewish, religious and non-religious,
insider and outsider, rich and poor, black and white, slave and free, they mean nothing.
From now on everyone is defined by Christ, everyone is included in Christ.
So, you who are chosen by God for this new life,
dress in this wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness,
discipline. Put on peace and be content with just a nomination.
Be quick to forgive any “faux pas” and remember to forgive
as quickly and completely as the Master Designer forgave you. Lastly,
regardless of what else you put on, always wear love. It’s your basic,
all-purpose garment. Never be without it!
Colossians 3:9-14 The Message Version
When I am faced with a
new way of thinking sometimes it helps me to see the opposite side by
side. Here are God’s garments from the
scripture above and the opposite choices:
COMPASSION or CRUELTY KINDNESS or HOSTILE
HUMILITY or PRETENTIOUS GENTLE or IRRITABLEDISCIPLINED or IMPATIENT PEACEFUL or HURTFUL
CONTENT or INDIGNATE FORGIVE or BLAME
LOVE or INDIFFERENCE
Unlike the politician, let’s spend some time thinking about our ensemble. Every day we are looked at by others so we need to look our best and represent our designer well. We will feel good in them and want to wear them more and more. These garments we have access to cost us nothing. Jesus paid the price for us in His red carpet walk to the cross. We may not be receiving an award in Hollywood this season but the approval of God is our red carpet moment. Let’s be so obvious with our style that no one has to ask, “Who are you wearing?
If the devil wears Prada,
What do the Godly wear?

Grace and
beauty can fool you, but the
one who respects the Lord should be
praised.
Proverbs 31:30
** Lord, thank you for making me in your
image and thank you for your awesome style.
I’m excited to have your wardrobe available to me every day and that the
cost has already been paid. Help me make stylish choices that brings
recognition to you. Forgive me for those
times I have chosen to wear Prada instead of garments of love. I love you and welcome being dressed by you
daily. **
